Evaluation Professionals
FEXION — Formation Evaluation, Petrophysics & Subsurface Excellence through Integrated OliNesia Network. Indonesia's community for Geology, Formation Evaluation, Petrophysics & Subsurface Integration.
Indonesia's Home for Subsurface Professionals
Founded in 2020, GOFEW Indonesia emerged from the recognition that Formation Evaluation and Wellsite Geology professionals in Indonesia needed a dedicated community — one grounded in local basin knowledge but connected to global best practices.
We are a non-profit professional organization recognized by SKK Migas and affiliated with IATMI, bringing together practitioners from operators, service companies, universities, and government bodies across all 34 provinces.
- Access to Indonesia's largest Formation Evaluation professional network
- World-class technical training programs with CPD points
- Annual conference and monthly webinar series
- Exclusive knowledge library with regional basin case studies
- Direct connections with operators, service companies, and academia
- Recognition through the GOFEW Technical Excellence Awards
Eight Technical Pillars
GOFEW Indonesia covers the full spectrum of subsurface disciplines — from wellsite operations to reservoir characterization and energy transition.
Formation Evaluation
Wireline logging, log interpretation, and subsurface rock property analysis across exploration and development wells.
Petrophysics
Quantitative analysis of reservoir rock and fluid properties using well logs, core data, and advanced petrophysical workflows.
Wellsite Geology
Real-time geological supervision, mudlogging data QC, cuttings description, and formation top tracking at the rigsite.
Mud Logging
Gas monitoring, cuttings analysis, ROP optimization, and real-time data acquisition for well control and formation evaluation.
Geosteering
LWD/MWD-guided directional drilling decisions to optimize wellbore placement within reservoir targets.
Reservoir Geology
Geological model building, facies characterization, fluid contact mapping, and production-linked earth model updates.
CCS & Energy Transition
Carbon capture and storage site characterization, injectivity assessment, monitoring protocols, and low-carbon pathway analysis.
Drilling & Subsurface Integration
Cross-discipline collaboration between drilling engineers and geoscientists on well design, geopressure, and operational risk.
Upcoming Trainings
Industry-led programs designed by and for Indonesia's subsurface community.
Advanced Petrophysical Log Analysis
Master multi-well log integration, clay volume models, and saturation equations for complex lithologies in Indonesian basins.
Formation Evaluation Fundamentals
Comprehensive introduction to wireline logging tools, log quality control, and basic formation evaluation workflows.
Geosteering in Thin-Bed Reservoirs
Practical geosteering decision-making using LWD resistivity, azimuthal gamma ray, and real-time geological interpretation.
CCS Site Characterization & Monitoring
Introduction to carbon capture and geological storage: site selection criteria, injectivity, containment, and MMV frameworks.
Upcoming Events
Conferences, webinars, and workshops connecting the Indonesian geoscience community.
FEXION Annual Conference 2025
Indonesia's premier formation evaluation and geoscience conference. Two days of technical sessions, workshops, and industry networking.
